McCoy Tyner Transcriptions/Compositions by Leon Kerkstra

Compositions :

Over the years McCoy composed some wonderful songs. The New Real Book published 'Search for Peace', 'Blues on the Corner' and 'La Vida Feliz' in volume 1. (Note that about 20 compositions of John Coltrane are published in volume 2). The World's greatest Fakebook, also by Sher Music, includes Aisha, Fly With The Wind, In Search Of My Heart, Peresina, Senor Carlos and Utopia. JRC also publishes a couple of McCoy's compositions because they have never been in print:

Changes
Rio
Where Is Love
Hip Toe
Latino Suite

Transcriptions :

Transcriptions of McCoy Tyner's Music are quite rare. The only book that I know of is called: "McCoy Tyner artist transcriptions piano" by Hal Leonard Corporation ( ISBN: 0-7935-0747-2 ) . The Jazz Resource Center is one of the very few websites offering free transcriptions, you can find some of McCoy there as well.
